1. Overview

Okular LLC ("Okular," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our website (okularservices.com) or use our Services, including game server hosting and the remote file management platform.

Please read this policy carefully. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here. This policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Contact information — Name, email address, and phone number provided when you contact us, sign up for services, or submit support requests.
  • Billing information — Payment transactions are handled by third-party processors. We receive limited billing data such as transaction IDs, payment status, and the last four digits of a card where provided by the processor. We do not store full payment card numbers.
  • Communications — Emails, support messages, and other correspondence you send to us.
  • Account credentials — Usernames and hashed passwords where account registration is required for a Service.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Log data — IP addresses, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and timestamps collected by our web server and infrastructure.
  • Usage data — Actions taken within the remote file management platform (e.g., file operations, login events) for security, auditing, and version history purposes.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — See Section 7 for details.

2.3 Files and Content You Upload

When you use the remote file management platform or game server hosting, you may upload files, scripts, and configurations ("Your Content"). We process and store this content solely to provide the Services. We do not access or review Your Content except as necessary for technical support, security response, or legal compliance.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provision, operate, maintain, and improve the Services.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • Respond to support requests, questions, and communications.
  • Send transactional and service-related communications (e.g., billing receipts, maintenance notices, and security alerts). These are not optional for active customers.
  • Send optional marketing or product update emails, where you have opted in or where permitted by applicable law.
  • Monitor for abuse, security threats, and violations of our Terms of Service.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
  • Conduct analytics to understand how the Services are used and improve performance.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information with the following categories of recipients:

4.1 Service Providers

We use third-party vendors to help us operate the Services, including cloud infrastructure providers (e.g., Amazon Web Services), payment processors (e.g., PayPal), and email delivery services. These providers are contractually obligated to process data only as directed by us and in accordance with applicable law.

4.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, subpoena, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect rights, property, or safety — ours, our customers', or the public's.

4.3 Business Transfers

If Okular is involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or reorganization, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or prominent notice on our website before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4.4 With Your Consent

We may share information with third parties when you have explicitly consented to such sharing.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including the duration of your service subscription plus a reasonable period thereafter for legal, accounting, and dispute resolution purposes.

Server files and Your Content are retained for the duration of your active subscription. Upon account termination, we may retain data for up to 30 days before deletion, after which recovery is not possible. You are responsible for exporting any data prior to cancellation.

Log and audit data may be retained for up to 12 months for security and operational purposes.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and infrastructure hardening. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use strong, unique passwords and promptly report any suspected unauthorized access.

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

7. Cookies & Tracking

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Maintain session state and authentication for platform users.
  • Remember preferences and settings.
